Hi. If you're able to get online directly to your cable modem with your laptop try the steps below:
1. download the Cisco Connect from the website and from there install it and follow the instructions.
2. if using Cisco Connect did not work, try to access your Valet's userinterface (192.168.1.1 - default). Use admin for username and password (especially if you've done a reset and did not change the username and password to something else) to get into the settings. Click on MAC ADDRESS CLONE subtab under SETUP and click enable and hit Clone My PC's MAC. Go to Status tab after that and check Connection Type if set to DHCP (since most cable internet service is on DHCP not unless you are on static ip) and if you're able to get an internet IP address there and if it is the same one that you are getting when connected directly to the modem then you should be able to get online wired from there.

Make the following connectivity Modem ----> Router -----> Computer... Then install the Cisco Connect Software... It will help you in configuring the Router...
If you want to provide the old SSID and Password for your wireless then you can set those up as well...
As far as making the printer as a shared network printer it depends upon the operating system running on your computer... Let me know which operating system that you are running on the computers.
