Okay, I had to reset both my router and modem, which pretty much killed my PPPoE settings, which gave me a NAT 2 setting for my PS3. This normally wouldn't be a problem. I've used the instructions in this link (https://windstream.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail
I've tried contacting both Cisco and Windstream (my ISP). Neither were of no help to me. One gave me a link to a page about port forwarding. I tried it, it didn't work, either. My PS3 wouldn't connect to the internet. So I'm pretty much at a loss. I figure the problem is on my router's end, since in order to set up the PPPoE, I have to bridge my modem, which works fine, but I have no idea what is stopping it from connecting. I checked and my username and password are both correct. I don't know what else to do.
Any help would be grately appreciated. Oh, by the way, the router I'm using is an M10.

What about the firmware of the router? Is it already the latest one? What’s the internet IP showing in the status page of the router? All I know for cases like this, you just need to make sure firmware is updated. Forward the necessary ports. You can access the following articles below as your guide. I just hope that will help. ![]()

My firmware on the status page says this:
Firmware Version: 2.0.03 build 4Dec 10, 2010
The internet IP says this:
Internet IP Address: 192.168.254.1
Is that the latest firmware? And does firmware get reset when you reset the router? If so, I suppose that could be the problem. I will look at the links you sent me, though. Thanks.

I think that’s already the latest firmware. I got that info here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/valet/M![]()

Yeah, I was thinking it was the latest, but I wanted to be sure. My modem is a Sagemcom 4300. I just can't figure out why this worked before but isn't working now, when all I've done is reset both devices, which I've done before and was able to get it back into PPPoE. It's really frustrating me. ![]()
But according to the page you sent me, a private IP means I need to bridge the modem, which is what I always do when I set the router to PPPoE, and as I said, when I get to that last step, my router just says connecting and I have no internet connection.

Can you connect your computer to the modem OMGWTF818181 ? Can you check the IP address and provide screenshot if possible? You can open this link as your guide http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=

I can do that, but no, it isn't in bridge mode at the moment. If I put it in bridge mode, I lose my connection. All the steps in the instructions cause me to lose my connection, so right now the router and modem are both set as they normally are so I can reply to you.

Since your modem isn't on bridged mode right now, just to isolate, how about you try to connect your PS3 directly to the modem and check what NAT type are you getting. If you're getting an open NAT, go ahead and bridged the modem again, reconfigure your router and try to forward the ports on the router.

When my PS3 is plugged directly into the modem, it didn't say if it was open, moderate or strict. This is what it did say, though.

I still had a nat 3, which... I shouldn't have, right?

I finally figured it out. Turns out, there were different ways to bridge my modem and I was bridging it the wrong way. Dunno why it used to work the old way and now it doesn't, but I tried the new way and I finally have a Nat 2! ![]()
Thanks to the both of you for trying to help me!
