I have a DLink DCM-202 cable modem (isp is Comcast) connected to my Valet M10. Once or twice a day the modem will drop connection. It will eventually re-establish connection but the random drops are annoying. If I replace the M10 with my old Linksys WRT54G router the modem never drops a connection and is stable.
Any idea why this is happening?

Bypass the router and connect the computer directly to the cable modem.
Observer the Internet connection and make sure that the Internet is not dropping through the modem.
if the modem is working fine then you can try to reset the M10 router and reconfigure it.
Connect the modem to the Internet port and computer to Ethernet port 1 on the router. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it manually.
Follow this link to configure the router with Cable Internet service.
Also change the MTU size to 1365.

I have this same problem, it happens really early in the morning, about 5 or 6 AM, and we didn't have this problem with our old router, which died. The modem doesn't drop us.
