Best way to setup WRT300N as an Access Point

I have upgraded my wireless network to 802.11n by replacing my 802.11g AP and NICs in the kids computers with Linksys gear. My old wireless router was configured as an Access Point (no gateway functions). What's the best way to set the WRT300N like that?

I have connected my wired LAN to one of the switch ports (not the WAN port), disabled DHCP, Firewall, & NAT. This seems to work but I'm not sure if it's the best way to do this. Performance seems a little slow.

the way your network is setup right now is fine. However you say that you are facing speed issues. Is this on the wired or wireless ?
Have you checked what firmware version your currently have on the router.Upgrade if necessary.

Re: Best way to setup WRT300N as an Access Point

With the WRT300N v1 with the latest FW (1.03.6), configured as an AP, I have access to the intranet and internet but the (wireless) connection is unstable. Known issue? Any suggestion ? Thanks.
