Re: Changing Password in EA2700

If you have installed the Cisco Connect software on your computer when you setup the router for the first time, then you can do it on the software. You only have to open the software and click on Router Settings. From there you will see Router Name and Router Password. The Router Name and Router Password are the same as the wireless network name (SSID) and the wireless password for the router.

In case you did not use the Cisco Connect software, you’ll have to change it on the router page. You open a browser and type on the address bar and use admin in both fields for the prompt that comes up asking for username and password. From there, if what you need to change is the wireless password of the router, click Wireless on the black bar. From there you will see the Configuration View which you have to set to Manual. You will then see the two bands that the router is broadcasting (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). For each band, you will see SSID which is the wireless network name that the router is broadcasting and then Security Mode. If those are already setup, then you’ll just have to change the pass phrase for each security mode. Pass phrase is the other term for wireless password. If you only need to change the router log-in password, you click on Administration on the black bar and then you will see on the screen Router Password and Re-enter to Confirm it. The steps above are applicable if the router is on the Classic firmware.

If the router is already on the Smart Wifi firmware, you access the smart wifi page and then click Wireless on the side panel. On the page that comes up, you will see the two bands and you’ll have to click Edit before you can change the password. The router log-in password can be found under Connectivity.
