Connect WRT54G2 with USB?

The ethernet port on my Motorola SB5120 modem (3 yrs old) has never seemed to work.  I've always used the USB port on the modem as a workaround.  But now I've purchased a WRT54G2 and can't figure out how to use the modem and router without an ethernet connection on my modem.  Any advice?  Hopefully something cheaper than buying a new modem.

My internet connection is high-speed cable.

If the ethernet port on the modem is configured you can get try linksys usb to ethernet convertor ( model USB100M ) and see if it works for you....

Re: Connect WRT54G2 with USB?

Thanks for the response but I think the ethernet port on my modem is broken and that is my whole dilemma.  I can't seem to get it to work on my laptop or PC.  Just the USB connection to the modem.  I don't think I want to risk spending $37 on the converter to find out.  I appreciate the suggestion.
