Connecting WRT54G2 with a Arris TM602G/CT Modem?

Hello everyone,

First off I have Comcast internet serivce.  I used to have AT&T but we switched from them.  AT&T's modem worked perfectly fine but it's this Arris one thats giving me a hard time.  I've searched a lot and I've also tried a lot of different remedies but nothing seems to work.  On the Linksys EasyLink Advisor page the correct router doesn't even show up it just says Gateway, the internet circle is green, but the line connecting to modem to the router is red.  The thing is that the interent is still working with the desktop, it just won't let me connect anything wireless to it.  If I try to add a device to it only the wired option is choosable.  I can even find my network on my laptop secured and everything but it asks me for the pin to configure it instead of the passphrase.  Any help is appreciated thanks.

DSL and Cable ISP have different settings...You need to configure the router as per the Cable requirement..Try this link to configure the router.

Once done then, try the following wireless settings on the router and check..

Open the router setup page...Click on the Wireless tab
- Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
- Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box.

- Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...

For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key.NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...

Click on Advanced Wireless Settings..Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...

Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...
