Connecting a wrt54g to a 2wire 2701HG-B gateway

I have been running a WRT54G to my DSL modem for some time without problems. Recently My DSL service has required the use of the 2WIRE Gateway.
My computer works fine but my workstation does not communicate through it. I would like to know how to set up my router so that I can use it communicate through the 2wire gateway. I have already tried to set the router up for DCHP but was not able to get it to function. I don't know that much on networks or routers only enough to get my self in trouble occasionally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
