Don't have a local area connection. Just reformatted my harddrive.

Basically I fried my hard drive a little over a week ago. I just got a new one, formatted it last night, and everything's good, except I can't connect to the internet. Now i usually connect using a Linksy's Router, but I can't get a Local area connectin set up.
I use the "network creation wizard" i select the following options

Connect to the internet

Using a broadband that is always on

it says succes etc. but still no connection is made?

Help please?

Did you install a driver for your ethernet card?  Windows has many drivers, but perhaps not one for your ethernet card.

Check "Device Manager" and see if Windows thinks your ethernet card is properly installed and working.

Also, temporarily turn off your software firewall, including Windows Firewall, and see if that helps.
