i get confusing messages from the dd-wrt foruums, some say it doesn't work, some say they did it. the wiki for dd-wrt says the E1200 v2 should work with the FCC ID: Q87-E1200V2 http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Dev
who knows and i don't want to brick my new router, but there might be a function i need in dd-wrt.
do you know if it can send out an email when it senses a new external ip ? Or i heard dns-o-matic does that plus updating all your ddns. idk someone suggested it.
that would be usefull to me and the only reason i would flash it.

The router is listed on the link that you provided so probably it will be able to support your need. But just to remind you though, installing a 3rt party firmware to your router will automatically void the warranty of that device.

Sorry about resurrecting a really old thread.
I have an E1200 and need to throttle U/D rates which the stock firmware will not allow. Were you able to get the firmware installed properly without creating a brick?
