Hello , I have a question about internet boot up time. I have a great connection and outstanding internet speed(72Mbps) but after my computer boots up it takes 1 1/2 minutes for my internet to connect , ist there a way to spped this up ? I have a Toshiba Qosmio computer and Windows Vista 64 bit . The E1550 is set at WPA2 Personal /AES all else is set at default settings. Any info would be appreciated. Digger

Do you still have the same issue after rebooting the router?

try removing the WPA2 and verify if it works faster. if it does, then the slow-down may be an effect of the security encryption on the wireless connection.

I've tried that and it didn't help out, all it did was slow my connection down from 72.0 Mbps to 54.0 Mbps. I tried changing channels and updated the firmware as well. What surprises me is that my old wrt110 router connected immediately. The only reason I replaced routers is my microwave oven booted me off of the internet.

P.S. I also switched between mixed mode to just g and g and b and n , mixed mode is best for internet speed but no change in boot time.

Change some of the basic wireless settings. Set the channel width to 20 Mhz only instead of auto. Then select a specific channel from 1,3,6,9, or 11.

Tried that too, tried all channels and made no difference

and is set to 20 hrz only , I'm really scratchin' my head on this one. even updated my network adapters but were already up to date. set my anti-virus to start after all other drivers are loaded , you know the routine

Yeah got me thinking real hard. How about the firmware? If it alread has the latest, reflash the firmware then reset the device reconfigure and let's see how it goes.
