E2000: Can I get 300 Mbps at 2.4GHz?

[ Edited ]

Hi all. Is it possible to get 300Mbps with the 2.5GHz band? If no why? If yes, How? I only got 300 Mbps using the 5 GHz band but I need to stick with the 2.4 one since some of my devices don't support the 5GHz band. Thanks

Yes. It should be possible if the router and the wireless device is correctly configured and capable of that speed.

Thanks for your comment, I just realized because of you that my wireless adapter was set to use only 20MHz width. Maybe that is why. I'll try again tonight when I get home.

Well that was it. My wireless adapter was set to use only 20 MHz bandwidth on 2.4GHz.

Re: E2000: Can I get 300 Mbps at 2.4GHz?

Many wireless adapters are set to 20 MHz only on the 2.4 GHz to reduce interference and to play nicely with all those other 2.4 GHz access points in the proximity. I would recommend to use 20 MHz bands on the 2.4 GHz band if you have many other access points close by.
