E3000 Connection Problems

I just bought a new E3000 router less than 2 weeks ago.  I spent hours with my tech guy setting up the router so that I was getting excellent internet speed and the connection between my computer and my nas was maximized.  In the process of setting up the router my laptop (Windows 7) and the basement laptop (Vista) were set up to access the router.  Both work perfectly

These are now the only two devices in the house that can get internet access.

The other devices that should connect are:

2 Laptops (both Vista)

1 iPhone 4

2 iPhone 3gs

1 Printer

I can't get them to connect.  I spent an hour with a guy at Cisco tonight who just couldn't seem to get past the idea that it was not the laptop that was the problem.  I don't understand.

Someone please help.

Re: E3000 Connection Problems

I did and nothing seems to apply.  I can't make sense of why these two devices that were setup at the time the router was set up can connect but nothing else can.

Re: E3000 Connection Problems

I think you can try to reset the router and reconfigure it manually.

Connect the modem to the internet port and computer to Ethernet port on the router.

Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it manually.

Who is your Internet service provider?

Follow this link to configure router with Cable internet Service.

Follow this link to configure router with DSL internet Service.

You are my hero.  Thank you very very much.  I knew it had to be something as simple as 2 clicks.

Take care

Re: E3000 Connection Problems

here's how to reset:

http://compnetworking.about.com/b/2009/03/11/the-30-30-30-hard-reset-rule-for-routers.htm

you will not retrieve the password after doing the reset, instead you need to reconfigure the router.
