@louis,
I had the same problem after upgrading to the latest firmware. After returning to factorysettings the problem was solved. So I advise you to set the router back to factorysettings.

I have had bad wireless throughput and simply horrible wired throughput. My e4200 replaced a bufflao wzr2-g300n...which was 2x faster wired and 1.2x faster wireless on speedtest.net -- same cables, etc - just swapped out one router for the other. No idea why it is slower. I also have the latest firmware.

Since upgrading to the e4200, my internet has been crawling. I tested my throughput and am getting .84 - about half what I was getting with my old router. I've got several devices and they all have the same problem.
Netflix ran perfect on my old system, but with the e4200 it stops and buffers constantly. And forbid someone else is on wifi.
Any suggestions?

I recently purchased an E4200 and connected my PS3 via ethernet and my Toshiba laptop via WIFI.
My question is: Why are my download speeds (speedtest) on my laptop consistently around 22 mbps and my PS3 never goes above 13 mbps? I am sure I screwed something up........please help with solution.

Try doing a speedtest @speakeasy.net/speedtest. Tell us what you get.

I did the test on speakeasy and it said I am getting 17 mbps. When I test the connection via the PS3 it consistently responds back at around 12.5 mbps.............What gives?

Speakeasy is right and the integrated PS3 speedtest is garbage. It is highly inaccurate and should not be taken seriously.

Thank you very much,.......I appreciatte the prompt and expert response.

I have exactly same problem with download speed. Can't watch a movie on Netflix without it buffering almost constantly.
I had an E2000 actually was better to watch Netflix. Still buffering, but not as bad. I thought upgrading to E4200, that the problem would be fixed.
Can't stream anything on the internet without constant buffering, to the point of complete aggravation. I finally just stop streaming anything.
My internet connection is excellent, streaming is really bad. I'm no tech so can't give you examples of speed, but I certainly can tell the difference of slow and fast .I have wireless internet.

Are you using any sort of ipv6 tunnels?
