I've just confirmed that everytime I try to stream music from my MacBook Pro (iTunes) that is connected to my WiFi network using the 5GHz mode (channel width is Auto, channel: Auto (DFS)) to a couple Airport Express cubes are connected via the 2.4 GHz WiFi (channel width: Auto, channel: 10) the E4200 router reboots. When I set the MBP to use the 2.4 GHz mode I can stream music without causing the E4200 to reboot. The E4200 is running firmware 1.0.03.

Login to the router's web interface. Under 'application and gaming tab', click on the sub tab, 'QoS' and disable the option 'WMM support'.
Refer to the screen capture below.

thanks, that solved it for me. was having the exact same problem with a wired airport express (not even using the wireless signal at all). the E4200 would reboot every single time i tried to connect it from iTunes on my macbook pro (iTunes version 10.5).
it did not happen when connecting from the same verion of itunes on a PC, and it did not happen when connecting to the airport express from airfoil. ONLY from iTunes on my macbook pro. very odd.
is this a firmware deffect on the E4200 that will be fixed in the future?
thanks a lot

Be aware that by turning off WMM, There are wifi cards, for ex: intel,
that will not be able to connect at full speed or at all

Sounds like a classic lesser of two evils workaround. Like other posters I hope that Cisco/Linksys fix this issue so that WMM QoS mode works properly.

I've just noticed that my iPhone 4 running iOS 5 will not connect to my WiFi network if WMM is off. 8^/ This is now an official rock and a hard place situation for me.

Ah, but I just read that iOS 5 devices need WMM on if the WiFI is 802-N only. If the WiFi is set to mixed mode the iOS 5 will switch to 802-G. I tried setting the 2.4GHz band to mixed mode, disabled WMM and my iPhone was able to connect to the WiFi. I'm happier now.

Did any of you have this problem with the previous firmwares?
