Power the router, push the reset button constantly for at least 30 seconds, then release it.

See if the Cisco-logo light and the port lights changes, let it settle for at least 5 mins then try to connect again at IP address 192.168.1.1 with Username/Password: admin/admin.

Alternatively try to connect to: http://myrouter.local/

If it doesnt help, try the 30-30-30 reset:

Power the router, let is stabilise for 5 minutes.

Press and hold the reset button.

After 30 seconds, while holding the reset button pressed, unplug the router power.

Keep the reset button pressed, after 30 second: power the router again, while holding the reset button pressed.

Hold the reset button pressed 30 seconds more and release it.

In other words, the reset button is pressed for a total of 90 seconds: 30 seconds powered, 30 seconds not powered, 30 seconds powered.

Let the router settle for at least 5 minutes, then try to connect again.

I guess it is still under warranty, unless you tried to download something obscure into the router.

Hi,

I suggest you reset it again. Make sure you have the right button. Just for your reference, have found this link:http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=19d223f0c48c470484a99a28a40f5c6b_Getting_to_know_t...

Push and hold down the reset for 30sec then let it go. Power light should be blinking. Wait for the power light to stay solid before setting it up again. For instructions in setting it up manually, please refer to the your other post. Let us know how's it goes.

I should say it's premature yet to say that the router is defective or what not. If the power light on it is still stable and not flashing rapidly then there's a big possibility that the router is still responding. Perhaps it just need to be re-set up properly. Though it's always your prerogative to get a new router. BTW, make sure the internet is working when your computer is connected straight to the modem. Needless to say, everyone here are willing to help. Smiley Happy

Re: E4200 v2 freezes

Silly question, is your ethernet cable known to work, can you verify that on another device?

If you try to connect wireless, do you see any Ciscoxxxx SSID? (where xxxx is specific for your router).
