EA3500 via CCC is difficult to connect

After using the newest firmware for CCC, I've found it is very convenient, but only in some ways. Now, I think I find it is uncomfortable, very disappointed and waste lot of times. Each time I try to access to CCC, it took me like 5 mins to access the web page. I understand ciscoconnectcloud.com is use when you are outside of your home network, but when I access it directly from my home (local IP), why should I need to connect via a CCC(?) I want a local connect to my router which is a faster access than via a server.

Sometimes, connect via an IP of the router, it say can't connect because of internet connection down, but actually I can still access internet except access my own router. I like the easy setup of CCC but maybe I need to switch back to non-CCC?

Re: EA3500 via CCC is difficult to connect

Slow CCC access is a common complaint (see the many other similar topis here).

It depends on your acutal location, it seems that the CCC servers are only located in the USA. If you e.g. are in Australia or Azia opening your CCC page needs a long route from the server to your home network, hence the slowness.

I suggest to revert back to the Classic firmware and do your changes in the Webinterface. Usually these changes are close to once in a lifetime.

When you upgraded to the Cloud software you actually associated your old interface to the new one thus you were informed at the start that your router needs to be "associated. So even if you are on the local network you stil have to use the CCC to access the settings of your router and that is of course with internet connection otherwise you will have to go through myrouter.local. Have you tried to reset the router already?

Re: EA3500 via CCC is difficult to connect

Thanks for all the reply,

I guess it needs to go through CCC server in US which is very long route. sometimes I just need access via CCC to reboot my Router, but anyway, I need to run to it and unplug.

I hope Cisco will do something difference to the CCC.. there is people around the world using CCC, not only in US. Hope it will improve in other way.

I've had the same thing happen. I'm in US. Appears to be small bug. You have to access via www.ciscoconnectcloud.com.
If you type 192.168.1.1 after your modem has obtained a new ip, it won't realize you're connected to Internet. But like I said, if you type www.ciscoconnectcloud.com in your browser, you'll be able to login. Just bookmark it. 2 clicks.

It is potentially time consuming if you're trying to diagnose a net' issue. If your internet is actually down somehow and you cannot connect to the router through ccc.com it really sucks. This issue can potentially lead to ccc.com telling you the router isn't connected as well. Resulting in the user having to power cycle the router manually to get it all working again.

Time consuming for a home consumer router to be power cycled??  Hmmm

I guess you could always use firmware 2.0.37.   Firmware 2.0.37 worked pretty good for me.

I haven't had an internet outage in over 3 years.

Edit above post:

2.0.37 is classic firmware for EA4500......not EA3500

Re: EA3500 via CCC is difficult to connect

Thanks for helping me sort it out. I use te ccc.com to access my router now. First I use myrouter.local and it running good, but next day browser does not recognize it anymore. using the IP address 192.168.1.1 is too slow. SO I choose to use ciscoconnectcloud.com for now, although it a bit lacking some features.

Re: EA3500 via CCC is difficult to connect

I agree- Totally annoying.  This keeps saying I have another network to shut - BUT I do not.  Wont let me get to the Wifi.  They need to fix this.  The link you provided is a continual loop back to the home page now...no hope!
