EA4500 - does 'Auto' wireless channel setting actually work?

Hi

In my experience selecting 'auto' as the wireless channel setting on many routers (certainly the cheaper ones) doesn't work that well as the router tends to be stuck on one channel and doesn't really switch channels if congestion is experienced. So like many users i leave auto off and manually choose the best wifi channel (i use vistumbler). My question is does the 'auto' wifi setting work on the EA4500 (especially in the 2.4 ghz band) or is it pretty much like other routers...ie useless ?

The channel won't change. If it would some devices would loose the connection. "auto" channel usually picks a channel during startup based on the current situation and won't touch it afterwards.

Selecting the option “auto” for wireless channel on EA4500 works, that means it will automatically change the channel if any congestion is detected on the wireless network.

That should work. But it is still recommended to manually select the channel.
