Picked up the EA4500 to replace my E4200v1. There seems to be the same issues with the TwonlyMedia embedded server on the EA4500 as when the E4200v1 was initially released. The router recognizes the multiple drives that I have tried with it (from 16GB sticks to 1TB WD Drives). The router has issues when adding media that is large is size. I tried with a music collection of 6000 songs and was successful, but around 8000 or so it does work. I am able to watch the embedded TwonkyMedia server build it's database by opening a seperate browser window to htttp:///server:9999.
Any suggestions. Note thie firmware is the only version currently available,.

I understand the issue which you have mentioned in your post. How about the option, 'scan all'? When you click on 'scan all' it scans the entire database of folder specified.
Secondly, if it's a product limitation and something which is embedded with the firmware itself then that is something which cannot be changed. May be we need to wait till the next release of the firmware.

The option of Scan All will work only for collections that are smaller in size < 8000 items. The behavior that occurs with the collection > 8000 items is the database does not get built.

Then it could be a product limitation which is something embedded with the firmware itself which cannot be changed. May be we need to wait till the next release of the firmware which can support more then 8000 items.

Has this issue been addressed? I came to the forum with the same problem and am kind of bummed to find only this thread.

There might be a new firmware release for this router but I do not think it will cater to more than what the previous firmware can. You'll have to sign-up for an account with Twonky then.
