HOW DO I CONNECT AN INTERNET PHONE TO MY WRT54G broadband router ?

BASICALLY

I JUST BOUGHT A DUALphone 3088 THAT CONTAINS SKYPE ON IT

i got broadband and wireless all running.

i tried plugging in the base station of the internet phone, by ethernet connection to my broadband linksys WRT54GX router,

and it just wont recognise it, so i cant use the phone to make internet phone calls

DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW I CAN SET THIS UP TO WORk ?

I would check that you don't have the skype phone to be static IP. (I had a similar hiccup with my vonage setup)
 
ALSO verify that the router has DHCP turned on, and that you haven't used all of your leases... I know, all obvious, but wirth checking out before you call tech support...

i have done that, the dual phone ting is not static
 
and my dhcp is on
 
have no idea what the lease means
 
and no idea why it still wont connect to internet help ?

When you look at your DHCP setup, you shouldbe able to set the number of available leases. That number limits the number of IP addresses that will be given out. For example, if you have the leases set to 5, and you have 3 PC's an ethernet printer, and your playstation plugged in (5 devices total) and you try to plug in the 6th, the last device wouldn't get an IP until you kicked the number of leases up to 6.
 
At least, I believe that's the way it works...
