How can I connect two WRTU54g routers together to extend my wireless network?

I have AT&T DSL service and a WRTU54G-TM for my wireless router and T-Mobile at Home phone service. The router is in the basement and upstairs near the back of the house Internet connectivity is weak. I have a second router, identical to the first, that I am hoping can be connected to the first, perhaps as a bridge(?). Not sure how that works and am hoping that someone could walk me through this. Thank You!

you can purchase a WAP54G it has a wireless bridge feature or a WRE54G which is a range extender

I believe that I can make it :smileyhappy:

You can not connect the two wirelessly but you can with a wire.  If this works for you simply type in 'two routers' in the upper right search area to find your answer.

what you're trying to do is "cascading" these two routers. you'd have to run a cable from port 1 of the first router to port 1 of the second router. set the LAN IP address of the second router to 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server. that's it.
