How do i disable "cisco cloud connect"?

I want to access my router's configuration page the old-fashioned way. I know i can disconnect from the internet to do this, but isn't there a better way? This requirement is intolerable. Is the ciscoconnectcloud.com server down? I can't even access my router now...

The servers weren't down. Typically, you have to power cycle the EA4500 to regain access (unplug it from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds). But resetting to factory defaults is never a bad idea.

You can refer to this URL http://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/Cannot-access-EA4500-configuration-page/m-p/643580. As mentioned by jlbjlb, resetting the router is not a bad option.

Re: How do i disable "cisco cloud connect"?

Thanks for the responses, but how can you be sure that the http://www.ciscoconnectcloud.com website was not down? Or at least that I could not reach it through my ISP? I still think this could've been the problem because:

1) Soon after I started having this problem at about 6PM Friday, I power cycled the EA4500 twice, and then I held the reset button down for >15 seconds to reset it to factory defaults. That still didn't fix it.

2) At about midnight Friday I tried again - having done nothing else - and voila - I could reach http://www.ciscoconnectcloud.com and thereby access the EA4500 configuration page again. Nothing had changed, but five hours later i could access that page.

So I guess there's still no way to run without the ciscoconnectcloud to manage the router, besides disconnecting from the internet? Also, I was on a chat session with cisco for 30 minutes and during that whole time, she gave me zero information. all she did was ask for my serial number and keep me waiting and she "thanked me for my patience." i ended up just hanging up on the session.

BTW, it appears that going back to "factory defaults" didn't clear my previous speedtest results - they were still there, going all the way back to August 2012, which is when i bought the EA4500. not completely a "factory default."

Also, I still have the problem in which my Roku Soundbridge won't play the music files stored on the seagate drive connected to the EA4500. I can navigate to the files and click "play" on them, but the Roku says its unable to play them. This had been working since August as well. Any ideas on that one?

Re: How do i disable "cisco cloud connect"?

It is possible that the website was down if all other websites were accessible at the time that you cannot access the smart wifi website. And of course since it is web based, failure to access the website is a failure to get to the router settings. Rolling back to classic firmware is always an option check this link from Linksys KB http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&articleid=25856.
