Issues with WRT54G v5 router setup page after firmware upgrade

I recently had issues with my v5 WRT54G router and in the process of fixing the problems saw that a firmware upgrade was avaliable. After loading the firmware I tried to log into the setup page using the standard IP address only to show that my computers would no longer find the IP address. I closed Internet Explorer and tried again and this time the login came up and I was able to get to the initial setup screen. I tried clicking on the wireless tab and when it loads, all of the selectable options including the "save settings" and "cancel changes" goes blank and I can't select or change anything. I thought to roll back to the old firmware but cant even get to the load screen to do so since everything disappears.

My last bet was to hit the hard reset button, but still nothing. Any ideas? I am wanting to change my wireless password and can't ge to the screen.

If all else fails, I am going to try to reload the router with the disk it came with. Maybe I can get around this some way.

Re: Issues with WRT54G v5 router setup page after firmware upgrade

Maybe this might help explain what it is I'm getting. Did a hard reset again. The only way I can make changes is to reload the original startup disc. But there's only so much I can adjust through that.ScreenHunter_01 Jan. 04 21.29.jpg

Re: Issues with WRT54G v5 router setup page after firmware upgrade

If it is still not working then follow the following steps:

The following procedure will clear out the NVRAM and set Router back to default values:

With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on back of unit for 30 seconds

Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds

Plug the unit back in STILL holding the reset button a final 30 seconds....

Then try to open the router setup page on a different browser or on a different computer and then check the status...
