Hi!
I've just bought Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi.
I have the router Cisco Linksys E4200.
I enable 5GHz on E4200.
I disable 2.4GHz on E4200 to be sure that the tablet connects to 5 GHz.
But, doing so, the tablet does not see the wifi.
Anybody succeeded to connect to 5GHz with this router and this tablet?
Thanks a lot!

What are your wireless settings for the 5GHz. band? Enabled? Network mode? SSID being broadcast? Wireless security mode?
Sounds like there might be a problem with your wireless settings on 5GHz.

One more thing, the range on 5GHz. is less than it is on the 2.4GHz. So your testing for 5GHz wireless should be close to the router.

Hi RogerSC!
Thank you for your answer.
My Galaxy Tab 10.1 is just beside the router (2 feet).
With the router config (see below), I do not see the wifi.
To see the wifi, I have to set 2.4 GHz SSID Broadcast to Enabled.
Here is the router config :
Configuration view : Manual
5 GHz Wireless settings :
Network mode : Mixed
Network Name (SSID) : PurpleFish
Channel width : Auto (20 MHz or 40 MHz)
Channel : Auto (DFS)
SSID Broadcast : Enabled
2.4 GHz Wireless settings :
Network mode : Mixed
Network Name (SSID) : PurpleFish
Channel width : Auto (20 MHz or 40 MHz)
Channel : Auto
SSID Broadcast Disabled
Wireless security :
5 GHz Wireless security :
Security mode : WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode
Passphrase : Y83VmxNPZW (not the real password)
2.4 GHz Wireless security :
Security mode : WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode
Passphrase :Y83VmxNPZW (note the real password)
Thanks again!

Thanks for your fast reply.
I really appreciate.
I changed my config as you said (see new config below).
But, my tablet sees only PurpleFish24.
It never sees PurpleFish5.
So, any other idea to connect to 5 GHz?
Thanks!

Yeah, I looked it up, The tablet does support 5GHz. That's why I asked about settings. On the other hand, it may not be working on that particular tablet, but it's supposed to work.

Are you sure it supports the 5 GHz band?

Do you have another dual-band device to test?
Yes, a friend of mine tested his IPad2 and we saw 2.4 GHz wifi and 5GHz wifi.
We did some speedtest.net on both and it worked well for both.
Thanks again!
