Linksys E4200 V2 subnetting

I have Linksys configured with IP 192.168.0.x and my local network ip 192.168.1.x have firewall connected to Adtrans box  that gives us internet access via T1 line and other port is connected to the switch. Wireless router is connected to the switch using internet port.

I can connect to wireless using iphone but emails don't work when connected to wireless. I tried to connect laptop to wireless is does not connect. I have tried to call technical support they are no help.

Are there other devices that's online with the switch? Did you connect a device wired to the router and does it work?

Are your devices connected this way:

Try this...

On the Cisco device:

-Assign a static IP address somewhere in the range 192.168.1.x

-Disable DHCP

-Plug into your network via one of the LAN ports

This will effectively setup your router as an Access Point only.  It will fix your connecity issues.  It will eliminate the extra subnet for wireless.

Re: Linksys E4200 V2 subnetting

My switch connects all the PCs on 192.168.1.xx LAN and firewall acts as gateway connecting to Adtrans internet port. The router connected to switch using internet port but the ip is 192.168.0.xx with DHCP enabled. iphone connects to wireless but when we try to send and receive emails on the iphone when connected to the wireless it fails.

I want to keep wireless on different subnet not the 192.168.1.xx. In Advance I see the routing table but not sure how to configure the table to let the 192.168.0.xx direct to our defualt gateway 192.168.1.1.

Hi Chandrak. How about you verify first if you can get a computer working wired to your switch and from there check if a computer can get online wired if connected to the E4200 router. Check zee29's diagram, that is my understanding too of your current setup.

The wired computers on the network work fine. I can also connect to the router wired.

The diagram is not correct  we have firewall connected to internal network switch and Ad trans box connects to external interface of firewall.

Okay then, regarding the wireless, are you getting an error on your laptop or it will say only unable to connect? Have you tried changing the channels on the router? Try 1,3,6,9.

Re: Linksys E4200 V2 subnetting

Its not the laptop I worried about but the iphone not able to send and receive email when connected to the wireless. I see it getting the ip from router as 192.168.0.xx and default gateway shown on the iphone as 192.168.0.2 which is wireless router ip. The router is not connected to internet directly. Firewall with the ip 192.168.1.xx is connected to internet. Like to know how to add static route to the wireless router so it will route the traffic from 192.168.0.xx to 192.168.1.xx. I tried entering destination address 192.168.0.0 and subnet 255.255.255.0 and defualt gateway as 192.168.1.1 which is our firewall ip. But it gives me invalid route when I click on save.

The wireless router internet port is connected to our switch and so is internal interface of the firewall to the same switch.

Re: Linksys E4200 V2 subnetting

Hi! In order for the static routing to work, the second router and the reset should have NAT disabled on it and it should be on a gateway mode.

Btw, if your iphone is connected to another network, is the email working?
