Linksys EA4500 Strict NAT with Xbox One

[ Edited ]

Hey all,

I just got a Xbox One and I use my wireless router (EA4500) for it. I've used it before on my Xbox 360 and I have had an open NAT but now all I have is strict.

I've done some searching on the web such as port fowarding and what not but no such luck. I was wondering if anyone can help me with my current problem?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Linksys EA4500 Strict NAT with Xbox One

Try forwarding the following ports to your xbox one:

Port 3074 (both tcp and UDP)
Port 88 (UDP)

Use single port forwarding and make sure you use the dhcp reservations feature of the linksys to reserve the xbox IP address.

Who is you Internet Service Provider? Try to disable UPNP. Simply go to Connectivity and you'll it find under Administration tab.

Help, learn and share :smileyvery-happy:

Apparently the strict NAT problem is widespread on Xbox one.

I guess you could contact Microsoft and see if they have a solution or a list of approved routers.

Re: Linksys EA4500 Strict NAT with Xbox One

Do you know if your router is getting a public IP Address from your ISP? If you are then just enabling UPNP should be enough. Keep in mind that if you have two xbox's then the first one to grab the ports will have open nat.

If you get a private IP Address from your ISP then strict nat is all you will get.

:smileywink: Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

Use the link below to guide you. But I doubt it will help even if router has a public IP address. There's a lot of people reporting that they had open NAT with xbox360 and strict NAT with Xbox one. Hard to say what the problem is for sure. You'd definitely want to unplug xbox360 from electrical outlet while you're trying to figure it out.
