Linksys router blocked website?

[ Edited ]
I've a BEFW11S4 router that was working fine for 5 years, until the other days it would not let me go to http://sportsbook.com. but any other websites works just fine.

Yesterday i when out and bought a new linksys WRT54G V.6 router (thinking it would fix the problem) the hooked up and setup was smooth, so i tested out with http://sportsbook.com again... and it works for about two hours and then wouldnt let me access it afterward. i've tried resetting the router/modem.

What could it be?. i mean http://sportsbook.com works 100% of the time if i connected modem to computer, but with linksys router i can't access sportbook.

please help

Re: Linksys router blocked website?

Probably you need to open a certain port on the router for you to access that website.

Re: Linksys router blocked website?

I've just had the same thing happen.  I can't get to any sites that share hosting with the same IP.  Very strange.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Re: Linksys router blocked website?

I also just had the same thing happen to me. I just moved my website to hostnine and everything thing worked fine for about 24-hours.

Then all of a sudden my WRT54G router started blocking my website for some unknown reason. I do not have any website or port blocking turned on.

My website is-

The Linksys live help told me to uncheck Blocking Anonymous and Filter Multiple Cast which neither fixed my problem. Then they suggested reflashing my firmware which was already up to date, resetting the router for 30-sec and reconfiguring using the installation CD. Nothing has fixed the problem.

If I pull the 54G out of my network and connect using my cable modem I can access my website without any problems.

Anyone have any other ideas on how to fix this problem?

Thanks!

Re: Linksys router blocked website?

I have the exact same problem.  I cannot access my website via http, but have no issues reaching it via ftp.  I can access any other website on the net.

After spending many days accusing my web host and ISP of incompetence, the router proved to blame in every test.

My $110 linksys runs into issues, yet my $20 router doesn't... hmmmm?

This also happened to us at work a few weeks back.  Same router same model! Work canned the linksys right away.

Hey Linksys... where's the fix?
