Lost Password

Hi,

I seem to have lost my username and password for the admin page for my WRT54G router.

Is there a way to retrieve or reset the login?

Re: Lost Password

Just press the little button on the back of the router with a paper click. Hold it down for thirty seconds then reboot.  You will lose all of your personal settings and revert back to default.   The default for the web interface will be blank for the username and admin for the password.

Re: Lost Password

Hold down the reset button for 30 seconds and then let go. Once complete then turn off the router. Boot up the modem wait till complete. Boot up the router, wait till complete, then boot up the computer.  Leave the password blank and put in admin for the password.

Re: Lost Password

Hard wire the laptop to the router. Log in the Admin Setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 in your browsers address field.

Default login credentials is to leave username blank and type admin in the password field. Otherwise you'll have to reset the router and reconfigure.

In case you were able to successfully access the admin page, click on Wireless->Wireless Security and you'll find the password there to connect your laptop to gain internet access.

You can also download CISCO CONNECT here so you can easily manage your home network.

Re: Lost Password

Reset the router (10sec), wait for the power light to start blinking before letting go. Once the power light is solid, open IE then enter http://192.168.1.1, if prompted with the Linksys Welcome Screen, just clieck on continue 'till you'll  be prompted with log-in screen; leave username blank then admin(lower case) for the password.

I have found some links that will guide you in setting up the router again.

Open this link if you have a DSL internet connection:
