Maximum length of cable when I connect a Linksys Wireless router to another Linksys Wireless router?

HI,

I have 2 router

1. Main router for connect to internet with ADSL connection.
2. seccond router for client in another room/floor.

I try to connect both router together with UTP cable CAT5e length 40m. so seccond router client can not to receive IP address form DHCP of main router but when I bring seccound router near main router it can do, then i want to know how long of cable can do when conect routers together?

thank you

Re: Maximum length of cable when I connect a Linksys Wireless router to another Linksys router

That mean 100ft * 12inc * 2.54cm / 100cm = 30.48m. right, so that mean my cable length is so longer then I can not receive DHCP IP information from main router.

I understand correct or not?

thank you
