Need Help - High CPU Usage after Installing WRT54G2 Network Magic

[ Edited ]

Hi, I'm new to the forum here and need some help. I recently bought a WRT54G2 Ver1. I installed the Newtork Magic software that came with it on my HP a1230n (WinXP) computer and decided I didnt'want it so I uninstalled it.  After rebooting I noticed that I'm not getting 95- 99% CPU usage in the Window Task Manager on an Image Named "System"  User Name - "SYSTEM" with Mem USAGE of 252k. I've ran my Norton antivirus and have no virus, spyware or malware. I look in my task manager regularly to see what programs are memory hogs and have never seen anything using up this much process power before.

I'm a novice at this and need someone to help me as this install/uninstall has crippled my system.  It takes forever for the computer to even open up to the desktop let alone open a webpage.  Any help/directions is greatly appreciated.

You have already Uninstalled the Network Magic software from your Computer. Under system Task manager have you check which process is using the highest memory of your computer and try to End the process of that application. If required you can download a Free Registry Cleaner on  your Computer and scan with it, if the registry of your computer is corrupted then it will fix it and this might solve your problem.

CCCleaner is a very good registry cleaner.  Used it for WinXP but not Win7, Yet.
