Port Forwarding

[ Edited ]

Hi everyone,

Now I have Linksys WRT110 wireless router in the office. Internet get through ADSL modem using PPoE connection. Sometimes  I need to connect remotely from some place to the server to maintain it. Server IP is 192.168.0.7. For that I'm using "Port Range Forwarding" tab in Linsys setup but no result. I can't connect to the server. Before I had Linksys WRT54G2 and it's working well. In WRT54G2 I added 3389 port and the same IP address and could connect using Remote Desktop connection.

Now with WRT110 I'm using DMZ to do that but I know it is not good way.

What is deference between these two routers. Where is my mistake, help my please.

Thank you for reply

Re: Port Forwarding

WRT54G2 is a G- standard router that works on 802.11 B/G mode .

On the other hand WRT110 support wireless N- standard along with b/G mode .

Try to reset and reconfigure the Linksys WRT110 router .

What is the current firmware version you have on your router ?

Re: Port Forwarding

Same version 1.0.07 and do reset the router after upgrading the firmware .

Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds .

Power cycle the modem and router and configure it .
