Problem loading page http://192.168.1.1/

[ Edited ]
Ok, so here's my problem. I've been trying get to my router's web page so that I can set everything up for my PS3, but when I enter in the adress it just comes up as "Problem loading page" ("The connection has timed out - The server at 192.168.1.1 is taking too long to respond" ). I have a Wireless Router (WRK54G), but we just use it as a regular router (don't ask me why, i don't happen to know myself - it's my whole family's). Could someone please help me out?

Alright I'll give that a try again. (I sort of tried it already, but I don't think I did it right).

Connect the comp to router's port 1. Then click on START==>RUN and type CMD and enter. In the dos prompt type - ipconfig , and enter and look for ip address and default gateway. Try pinging default gateway as - ping (default gateway)

Under the local area connection it says the ip adress is: 192.168.0.1 and it doesn't show anything for the default gateway.. Should I be looking under a different heading (There's also Ethernet Adapter Rogers - Rogers is the company that I subscribe to internet for)?

Got it. You  are using a static ip address which is giving you this problem. Click on START==>CONTROL PANEL==>NETWORK CONNECTIONS==>right click on LOCAL AREA CONNECTION and click on PROPERTIES==> highlight INTERNET PROTOCOL TCP/IP and click on PROPERTIES. Select the option - OBTAIN IP ADD AUTOMATICALLY  and click OK. And then try ipconfig and ping default gateway. And put the default gateway in the address bar of internet explorer and enter.

Re: Problem loading page http://192.168.1.1/

Alright so I changed it so that it obtains an ip adress automatically and did ipconfig, but now everything under local connection just says "0.0.0.0". The local area connection is still "Acquiring network adress", though. (It's been doing that for a while now.) Do I just need to wait for it to do that, or should it have found the adress by now?
