Renew ip address of router?

Is there way to renew routers ip address (the one that shows when you go online) without logging in to router?

Or when you login to router is there way to make sure you get different ip address.

Is there way to transform router into wireless switch so ip assigned not to router but my laptop.

Re: Renew ip address of router?

It depends whether your ISP provides dynamic or static IP address. However, you need to log in to the router in order to do that. Go to the Status Tab on your router, there should be an option to release or renew the IP coming from your ISP.

On your second question, you can make your router an access point. Disable DHCP server. Set your router's operating mode to Router instead of Gateway. You can locate it in Advance Routing sub-tab under Setup. Plug the cable coming from the modem/router directly to one of the LAN ports.

Yes. That's what I meant, a wireless switch if you will.
