Hello, Since there are no printed instructions. Only notes to run the CD Setup Program. I ran the CD.
But, the SetupWizard fails for the WRT54GL. I'm using Windows 7. Even though the software failed the router WRT54GL seems to work.
Why did the SetupWizard fail?
Is there something wrong that I don't yet know? Thank you.

That particular error message is telling asking you if the Ethernet cable is plugged-in from your computer to the router which is just needed for the initial setup even if you are using a laptop or wireless computer. If you think it is working, check if you can open up a browser because it may mean only that the local connection is recognized but the internet is not yet working. I checked the data sheet for the router from the Linksys website and so far it mentioned only Windows XP, Windows Vista 32 bit and 64 bit as the OS that would work with the software but anyway you can always setup the router manually. You refer to the links below on how to set it up manually.

You don’t really need to throw the router’s CD. The setup CD is useful for me. I installed the router in less than 15 minutes using the CD. It came with Norton Internet Security and installation user guide.
