Unable to connect to the internet.

I just bought a Linksys Router, the WRT54G and I ran the cd that came with it and everything, but when it gets to the point where it checks my internet connection, it can't detect it. I can hook up the modem to my pc and get internet just fine, but I if I connect the router, I don't get any access. I'm not sure what the problem is.

Re: Unable to connect to the internet.

I just installed mine today & it went ok. make sure the data cable is plug into the LAN & you are in one of the other ports (1 thru 4).that is how I went thru the steps. I did have problems during the day with the signal dropping but I fixed it.

Re: Unable to connect to the internet.

I have the same problem... When the CD is checking my Internet connection it says that it can't connect to the router. It says to check the Ethernet and the router but they are fine. I was able to do the set up on my laptop, but on my desktop (which is hardwired) I can't. So I know the problem is my desktop. I installed a new Ethernet card and it still won't connect to the wireless router. I'm not sure what's wrong. I can connect to the internet with out the wireless router with both Ethernet cards and when ever I have the whole set up wired correctly (phone jack to modem, modem to wireless router, wireless router to desktop) if I disconnect a cable my desktop tell me that a cable is unplugged... So I really don't know what's going on...
