Unscrew Antenna?

Hi,

How do you unscrew the antennas on a Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router? Here is what Linksys states:
head_instalation.gif
"Installation of a High Gain Antenna is easy. Just unscrew the current antenna(s) from your router, access point or bridge and attach the High Gain antenna."

Has anyone had success with unscrewing antennas from the Linksys G?

Thanks.

Re: Unscrew Antenna?

I have a wrt54g here and yes these antennas do unscrew, hold the antenna base and turn, btw the high gain antennas work great, good luck.

It depends on the router and hardware version you have. Check the label underneath the router. Some can be replaced. Some not. I think the WRT54Gv8 has fixed antennas while the other WRT54G have not.

Re: Unscrew Antenna?

I just returned a WRT54G V8 because the antennas are not removable.

Re: Unscrew Antenna?

I don't suppose a list exists of current versions of Linksys wireless devices that have TNC antenna connections?

I was trying to replace a WRT54G V6 that has removable antennas when I purchased the V8.

Just finished a chat with Linksys tech support.  Versions 1 - 7 of the WRT54G and all versions of the WRT54GS have removable antennas with TNC connectors.  That was in response to the question, "Which wireless routers have TNC connected antennas."
