Using Router as a Server

I am using a WRH54G wireless router. I have been told that the router can be used as a server to allow me to access the other computers on my network. Is this true? If so, are there any resources that I can consult that will explain how to do this?

Re: Using Router as a Server

This router is DHCP server for all your computers and also it is the gateway of your network to the public internet network. And of course you can access shared resources of one computer from other like files, printer etc. The job of router in 'file and printer sharing" is to provide basic network like a switch does, and you have se a "home or a small office network", provide in windows XP and VISTA, with your network workgroup etc. There are no settings on router needed to be done for file and printer sharing.

OK, I understand that it can be done but I don't know how. I am using both a PC with Windows XP and two Macs with OS X 10.5.
