I was searching yesterday for a way to sort out my problem before posting here and I read that suggestion on some forum or website. If it's causing a problem for wireless connection,I will change it back to 192.168.1.1
Let me know what I should do.

Reverted back to 192.168.1.1 and tried a wireless login to the internet...no luck. Now I have reverted back to 192.168.2.1 and tried again to no avail.
Any suggestions?

As was suggested in this thread, set the router back to PPPoE. Make sure to disable your PPP dialer. Do not use Internet Connection Sharing. Re-establish wired internet connection and make sure that both your computers are able to go online using the router to get the internet connection (not ICS). If both computers are able to go online wired to the router then you can check and see if you can connect to the wireless network (given you hav already configured the wireless settings of the router). Again please allow the router to share the internet connection in the network.

Hi zee29,
Thank you for your reply. As you have suggested, here is what I have done so:
"As was suggested in this thread, set the router back to PPPoE. Make sure to disable your PPP dialer. Do not use Internet Connection Sharing. Re-establish wired internet connection and make sure that both your computers are able to go online using the router to get the internet connection (not ICS)" This has been done. Now both my computers can connect either together or individually to the internet. This happens only when wired.I do not have a Wireless card in my desk top so I use a cable. My Laptop not connecting wirelessly is where my problem is.
"If both computers are able to go online wired to the router then you can check and see if you can connect to the wireless network (given you hav already configured the wireless settings of the router). Again please allow the router to share the internet connection in the network." I do not know what the correct wireless settingsshould be and how to configure them correctly..I would appreciate any help/suggestions.

Right.Thank you for your help.I am not very computer savvy and do not as a rule, make any unnecessary changes to my computers.I cannot afford to take that risk as I have menitioned in my original post that I run a small business from my home as I am disabled.Whatever changes you might have seen would have occured when I was trying to solve my problems.Thank fully, now both my computers can connect to the internet either individually or simultaneously thanks to the knowledgeable people on this forum.
You have suggested doing a few things which are basically Greek and Latin to me.I am willing to do as you suggest provided you tell me how to on a step by step basis including how to clean up my garbage.
Thank you you once again for all your help.
