WRT110 Dropping Internet Connection

[ Edited ]
I have a WRT110 and it works fine first thing in the morning after I first turn my PC on.  After a little while away from the computer, I lose the internet connection, and the only way I seem to be able to restore the connection is to power cycle the router.

I was going to try a firmware update but I discovered that both before and after the power cycle I can not access the router setup through 192.168.2.1 (that's what I set it to).

Re: WRT110 Dropping Internet Connection

Well try upgrading the firmware of the router & keep on holding tightly
the reset button in such a way that power light is blinking on the
router & then do a complete network power cycle i.e., unplug the power
cables from the modem & from the router & then plug in the power cable
to the modem first once all the lights are solid green you could plug
in the power cable to the router & check out it will definately work!!

Also, the advanced wireless settings to Beacon Interval=50,Frag
thres=2306 & Rts thres=2307 & then uncheck a Block Anonymous Internet
Requests & it will definately work!!!

Re: WRT110 Dropping Internet Connection

I need to follow up on my earlier post.

I am able to access the router config screens via the 192.168 method.

What my problem apparently continues is that my router will drop all connections including the wired connection on my main computer.

For instance when I turned my 2 computers on this morning there was no internet access available to either the wired computer or the wireless connected computer.

The only solution I have found at this point is to power cycle the router and then after the router syncs back up with the DSL modem everything seems to work ok...

What can I do to prevent the router from dropping the connection like this?  I did not have any problems for several weeks after I first installed the router but now this problem seems to be happening every day...

You are probably here and read this

because your Linksys WRT110 router

frequently and constantly drops internet connection.

And you are pretty fed up with it, just like me was.

You are on the right place.

Here is the solution of the problem.

2. Rename the downloaded WRT100_1.0.02.034_fw.bin firmware to

code.bin

remember where you have saved it.
