I just purchased a WRT160N v2 router and have spoken with Linksys tech support on the phone. It was suggested to try a firmware upgrade on the router ASAP, but:
When I go to the Linkys download page for the WRT160N https://www.linksysbycisco.com/CA/en/support/WRT160N/download
there is -NO- selection available in the dropdown list for version 2 (either version 1.0 or 3.0).
Can you give me a link to the downloads/firmware upgrades for the WRT160N v2? Thanks

Try this link.
You have CA in your address and the one I gave you above has US. That one does have version 2. I'm trying to install it but no success yet. I've posted my problem.
On second thought, the CA may be for Canada. If that's the case, the v2 version is probably not sold in Canada and hence the reason for no v2 download.

The only known working version of V2 firmware for the 160N is located here:
Once downgraded, reset the router and reconfigure it.

Download Firmware 3.10 MB for WRT160N v2 routers on a computer wired to the router...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...See if this fixes your problem...
