Heya!
We have the WRT160N for a little while now, and untill a few days ago, it worked just fine!
A few days ago the internet on our homenetwork started to get really really slow, and even 1 pc couldnt connect at all.
So we decided to give the router a hard reset.
After we did this, the network came back (our wireless network wasnt protected anymore, but we would fix that soon after we got it working again).
Only, we didnt get it working.. We got our network back so we can use the shared maps on all computers, but the internet was gone!
We got 1 pc near the Modem, so we connected that pc to the modem and he got internet immediatly!
Then we plugged the modem to the router again, and the beautiful blue light on the " internet logo" on the router went on and everything looked fine again.
Unfortunatly it wasn't. The internet was still not back! only local network available on all pc's!
So in short:
After resetting the WRT160N, we could only use the local network, so not the internet. While the router himself says that he has internet (he is connected to the moedem correctly).
Things u need to know:
- We do have internet on our modem, pc's that are connected to the modem directly do have internet
- the cable from the modem to the router isnt broken, we tried other cables but same problem
- we also did turned of the modem, then turned of the router, than switched the modem back on and then the router back on, still nothing happend
- we now plugged our ould (Wireless-G) switcher back on, and it started working correct immediatly!
So please!.. What is wrong with the WRT160N? We forgot something after the reset? We need to set some configuration somewhere? Maybe its broken?
