WRT300N wireless router - boost signal?

I just got a WRT300N wireless router.  I have it installed upstairs and have all the computers (3) hooked up to it wirelessly.  The one upstairs (where the router is located) has an excellent signal.  However, the 2 computers downstairs receive a low signal and have slow response time.  How do I boost the signal?  Do I need an adapter in addition to the router to boost the signal?

Re: WRT300N wireless router - boost signal?

Nope, it didn't help.  The network connection to one of the pcs downstairs (didn't bother to check the other one) shows excellent to start with...... then when I try start the browser (IE) the connection drops to low or very low and either the page loads very slowly or not at all.  Any ideas?

Re: WRT300N wireless router - boost signal?

Make sure you have the latest firmware for your router. Latest is 0.93.3.

Try also setting the radio band to standard instead of default=auto.Select also standard chan=11.

You may consider a repeater like WRE54G v.2 to help bounce your signal.
