I have a Linksys WRT310N v1 with firmware v1.0.10 build 002Jul 19, 2010
My router fails to renew it's DHCP lease from my cable provider, causing internet access to drop.
I can still access my cable modem at 192.168.100.1, but I must do a "IP Address Release" then "IP Address Renew" to get back internet access. Is this a known issue? The router works fine otherwise.

I already have (serveral times). I did the 45 seconds pin reset with no difference. I have also tried the 30-30-30 reset as well.
I reconfigure each setting by hand (no cfg restore). I am able to obtain a DHCP lease on startup fine, it just fails to renew the lease after 12 hours (ISP max renew time), and after a day or two, I drop off the internet.

Connect a computer to the modem and see if it will be able to detect the change without any problems. You may also enable mac address clone and lower mtu in the router. I checked some threads in the forum and some mentioned that this helped them regarding the internet ip address with the router not being renewed automatically.

I was able to resolve the issue by flashing DD-WRT firmware (Brainslayer 14929 K24 build).
I am not sure why DHCPRENEW / DHCPREBIND fails with the OEM firmware, but it's working correctly now.
