WRT350N - ISP STATIC IP refresh!!

I have been using this router for a couple of months and I've noticed something funky recently. I decided to make use of the ISP provided static IP to host stuff. I was also able to register a free dns alias on sites like noip and dyndns. The registered dynamic DNS only works for a couple of hours or days sometimes if I'm lucky after which it fails to resolve to the ip. Then I tried with the IP only to get to my server and that worked for a couple of days too before the IP refreshed.

I believe there are some TTL setting of some sort or the router is refreshing its connection to the ISP causing the IP to change frequently. I could not really find any information online pertaining to this issue.

I would like to keep my ISP provided static ip forever so I could do some hosting!!!

Can someone please help??

Thanks in advance!!

Re: WRT350N - ISP STATIC IP refresh!!

If your ip is changing then you do not have a static ip from your isp.
In order to use ddns service, uncheck "block anonymous internet requests".

Re: WRT350N - ISP STATIC IP refresh!!

Thanks for the response !! Let me confirm that I do have a static IP from my ISP. If that is not true then that I false advertising on their part and I'll make sure they fix it.
