WRT400 network port issue

I connect using a network cable to one of the four network ports and I can talk to the router 192.168.1.1 but I have no internet.

The wireless part of it on an ipod works.  I tried a wireless usb and it was constantly saying connected, then disconnected.

I have tried another port, updated network card drivers, reset the router, cycled the power, the firmware is the most up to date version.

I use windows 7, I experienced an issue very similar, turn on the PC no internet connection, I would disable it, and tell it to troubleshoot the problem and when it came back internet worked.  Now the problem is constant and can't be fixed that way.

I did install the nic card driver when the problem was intermittent, and it fixed it until now.

Re: WRT400 network port issue

So you have no problem accessing the internet, but there is a problem accessing the internet using other devices?

It appears the wireless works great.

The wired ports don't provide internet access.  So the router half works.

Thank you for replying.

Re: WRT400 network port issue

Right now, this seems to be a computer issue, so could you try completely uninstalling the driver and installing it again? I suppose that no one is using the router's Internet acres restrictions feature to limit Internet connectivity correct ?

Re: WRT400 network port issue

I uninstalled the driver, and reinstalled it.

I then went and downloaded the chipset driver for the motherboard, uninstalled the network card driver and rebooted.

This appeared to have fixed it.

Thank you for the suggestion.
