I have a WRT54G router, and when I am in the security area, where you choose WPA, WEP, etc... I keep clicking the dropdown menu, and when I choose anything BUT disable, the security auto-sets back to disable. I have rebooted the router. I have rebooted the modem. I have changed my router's password.
How do I turn my WEP back on without it just saying "lol....DISABLE!" on me?.... It's driving me nuts. >>;.... Also, for additional notation, if it helps, my US light on my modem is no longer green, it is orange since this issue has occured. Is there any connection that might be related to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Cisco Home Community,
Have you tried resetting your Linksys router? You may be able to get the WEP/WPA to work after resetting it. Here is the link on how to reset the router back to factory default.

Yeah, I tried that too, I forgot to mention it. Nothing worked.
What's the version number of the router? Is it WRT54G V5, V6, V7, V8? For versions like this, it’s recommended to update the firmware to the latest version. You can download it here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers
/WRT54G. Just make sure to reset the router after upgrade and reconfigure. You can access the articles below to guide you.

I have the same issue.
Please, share the solution if you were able to change the settings from being disabled.
You can also follow the steps that i recommended to Yukito.
