can't access setup on router

When I type the routers IP address in teh brower window, nothing happens so I cannot access the router setup.  I have a WRT110. What am I missing. I was able to do that when I first setup the router.

Re: can't access setup on router

Hi topcat03 and welcome to the forums!

Have you tried connecting a computer directly to the router via wire to check if you can access the router's page that way?

Re: can't access setup on router

Yes, the computer is connected directly to the router via the ethernet cable.  I know I was able to do it before when I first bought it and I don't think anything has changed.

Re: can't access setup on router

Try to check your IP address. It should be on the range of 192.168.1.1xx. If it is, try to ping the router.

Start > run > type cmd > enter > type ping (space) 192.168.1.1 > hit enter > you should get 4 replies.

Re: can't access setup on router

I can ping the router fine. I just can't access the browser setup.  I even disabled the firewall too. I am puzzled.

Re: can't access setup on router

Power cycle the router and try again.  If that does not work hard reset the router power cycle and connect and try again.

Re: can't access setup on router

Power cycling worked. Unfortunately, it seems to loose some settings but that is ok. I can change those.

Thanks

Re: can't access setup on router

Try hard resetting your router.

*Locate the reset pinhole somewhere at the back of your router and take pin, press for 30 seconds.

*unplug the router for another 30 seconds

*Once you replug the router, wait until the router's LED lights stop blinking.

Then you can access the router's GUI by typing 192.168.1.1 on your web browser's address bar.  Don't forget, the default password is "admin".  leave the username blank.

Yes the power cycle fixed it before you posted.
