iPhone 4 and WRT350N - super slow download speeds

My iPhone 4  gets, at best, 0.4MBs download and 3MBs upload (in the same test) 

Whats limiting the download speed?

I have WRT350N V1 with latest firmware 1.04.4 and reset factory settings.

I have tried changing MTU to 1350 and various broad and narrow channels. WIth no difference.

I can get better upload/download outside my house on Wifi (3MBs up and 3MBs down yesterday at Starbucks)

I even get better than 0.4 download over cellular network.

Have you checked your download speed at home using a computer? It might be the internet service that has the problem.

Yup - get 12 down, 3 up, consistently

So it must be the iPhone since your computer is getting the speed consistently. Can you try other device wirelessly?

I found the solution

Bought a different router - now I get 7Mbs down and 3 up.

More expensive - but you get what you pay for.

Goodbye Cisco/Linksys - i wont be back
