i have a WRT54G v5 router here.
it works fine (2 wired PC's attached and multiple wifi)
but i want to change some simple configurations (like put a password on the wifi internet)
the problem is that the configuration page(192.168.1.1) doesn't open correctly.
i tried it on several computers, wired/wifi and multiple browsers.(chrome&IE)
reset and removing the powercord for multiple minutes doesn't resolve the problem.
(master reset to factory settings also doesn't work)
can anyone help me with this problem?!
firmware update is also a problem since you need to go to the configuration page for this.

Hi sjoerd327 and welcome to the forums!
What do you mean by it doesn't open correctly? Does it get to the point where it asks you for a username and a password or it doesn't even get to that?

it ask for username and password and then it opens the the config screen of the router.
but it doesn't fully load(like an IE page that loads for like 10% or something)
in the left corner is says: Loaded with errors on page...
thx in advance

Download the Setup wizard from here also download the firmware for WRT54 v5.
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device
Double click the TFTP.exe file and click run.
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned. By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the router. By default, the router’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...
Click Upgrade button to start upgrading. A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

ey i have a problem again,
i have problems finding and downloading the setup wizard, the firmware is no problem but it's a .BIN file and i have no clue what to do with that, mounting doesn't work so i have no way to patch my router....(so all the next steps are pointless)
can someone help me out with this?!
PS: the link in one of the posts above doesn't lead me to the download location....

I am also trying to download the latest firmware version for router WRT54GS (V6) and it is coming up as a .BIN file. This is not right. Can someone from Linksys please post the correct file?
Also, the reason I am doing this is that my Wii no longer connects to my router after years of no issues. Anyone familiar with this problem?
