security issue

hello everyone i want to set up a security password for my ciscoWRT54G2 V1.5, but when i go to the setup page click on wireless security  and choose WEP it says disabled over and over again.. what should i do? thanxs

Click the drop down arrow and select 'enable'.  Now select WPA2-AES for the best security.  You may need to upgrade the routers firmware so check the web site.

the dropdown arrow do not give me the option enable""only different types of security modes but when i choose one, the page automatically refreshes and still disabled

Hard reset the router and reconfigure.

the hard reset didnt worked...

You could try the factory reset button which is found on the back or bottom of the router. Then try going into the options and setting a new password.
